Hi guys,
Just wanted to announce that my new InDashPC case is coming out soon.
It was produced along with IceUnit.
These features are implemented:
Code:
DVD-ROM mounting
2.5'' HDD mounting
shock proof mounting for them both
changeable back plate
improved ventilation system
1DIN size ( depth of 178 mm )
M1-ATX power adapter embedded. No external power sequencer is needed

Here are the pics of the case with no guts and front panel:

Will post more pics next week once we get plastic panel and everything else.
Let me know what you think.

Nice and simple!
Will you publish the drawing of this case, as you did with the first one?

I have to build a double-din-sized case, I could multiply the height of you project Very Happy

nice job, keep up the good work!!!

I had some time today to finish the assembly. Here are some pics:

And see what's the result is:

I still not very satisfied with the results as I see some gaps in the design.
Still not sure which pushbutton to use. May be someone can give me a hand and send me the link to a right one ?

Let me know what you think !

jbors, Hi.

I am very new to this forum. Gotta say, very nice design.

What are the dimensions on that box??

I've been thinking about integration for a long time now. Have couple old working boards.

I've been thinking of this kind of design:

1) image you have 2 slots available on your dashboard; one already contains your current cd player, other slot is a empty paper/pen/stuff holder.

2) If you search on ebay for small touchscreen displays, you may find the one with an integrated radio and motorized touchscreen lcd.
see link:

3) I was thinking, if that case that you have created could have holes to mount just like a regular car cd player on to the dashboard.

4)Imagine your "nano-case" on the lower slot, and that motorized screen on the upper slot.

Now that would be the ultimate elegant integration. It would remove that geek factor out completely. No wires, hanging screens on the dashboard.

I/O would be through the wireless keyboard, which would be laying under the passenger seat all the time, unless needed for specific use; such as typing address on the GPS program to locate certain address.

I apologize for this long post, my first post.

Sorry not yet. The design I wanted for the front panel is pretty expensive to build. I'll post progress as long as it goes, but cannot promise anything at this point Sad

Any chance we can get the drawings for this? How did you produce this prototype?

Thanks,
BoB
